How to make Turkish Delight with Jello
What is needed:
- 3 cups unsweetened apricot or apple juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 cups chopped walnuts
- Starch from corn 2 / 3 cup
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons unflavored gelatin
- Sugar 1 1 / 3 cups granulated
How to do it:
Place the gelatin in half a cup of apricot or apple juice soften and cook the rest of the juice with granulated sugar. Combine lemon, lemon juice, and add all but 1 / 4 cup cornstarch.
Add the gelatin and cornstarch mixture and return to boil, cook for ten minutes or until very thick, stirring all the time.
Add nuts and pour mixture into 9-inch x 9 x 2 baking dish that has been submerged in ice water.
Allow to harden for 12 hours, then cut into bite-size pieces. Mix cornstarch with remaining powdered sugar and roll the pieces in this mixture.
